Hi there,
If you want to improve your email marketing, one of the best things you can do is study the brands doing it best.
Here are 7 ecom brands we look at for inspiration.
1. Dr. Squatch
Dr. Squatch has best-in-class email marketing. Our favorite part about their emails is that they're actually funny and entertaining, which is perfectly in line with their brand. They make reading emails fun for men at home which is hard to pull off.
What you can learn: Develop a strong brand voice and stick to it across every email you send. Their email content is educational while being entertaining, which means people actually consume it.
2. Buoy
Buoy is among the best ecom brands at displaying why their product works inside their emails. Exceptionally high converting email designs. When you see a Buoy email, they make it incredibly easy to understand and grasp the benefits of the product.
What you can learn: Your emails should make it effortless for someone to understand what your product does and why it works. If a subscriber has to think too hard, you've already lost them.
3. Gruns
Gruns' marketing is exceptional in basically every way. Their email marketing certainly is too. They send five to six email campaigns per week, their emails are always educational, and they are very easy to scan and read. The way they display information is excellent. They show strong social proof at the bottom of every email and consistently maintain their notorious "save up to 52%" offer for non-buyers throughout their campaigns.
What you can learn: High volume email marketing works when every email delivers value. Gruns proves you can email your list almost every day without burning it out if the content is good enough.
4. Eight Sleep
Eight Sleep arguably has the nicest email designs in ecom. They are the definition of what a premium brand looks like through email. Their pop-up, welcome flow, and campaigns are masterclass from top to bottom.
What you can learn: Your email design should reflect the price point and positioning of your brand. If you're selling a premium product, your emails need to look premium too.
5. Spanx
Spanx is among our top three personal favorites. They have a very high email campaign volume and their campaigns are generally excellent in terms of topics and content. They're emailing their list five to six times per week and making it work. Every email feels purposeful.
What you can learn: Sending more emails is not the problem. Sending boring emails is. Spanx proves that a high volume email strategy works when the content is consistently strong.
6. Cuts Clothing
Cuts Clothing is a personal favorite, especially having worked with quite a few men's clothing brands. Their email campaign volume is very high, their designs look great, and their email topics are always on point. A great example of a men's apparel brand doing email marketing the right way.
What you can learn: Great email marketing in apparel comes down to three things. Volume, design, and relevance. Cuts nails all three consistently.
7. FOCL
FOCL is an underrated brand when it comes to email marketing. Their email campaigns are damn near perfect in terms of content and how they explain their product benefits. Clear, clean, and incredibly easy to understand. A brand worth studying if you're in the health and wellness space.
What you can learn: You don't need to be a household name to have world class email marketing. FOCL proves that clarity and consistency are enough to stand out.

Hope this helps.
